Tove Lo & Alma keep their best writing for themselves with “Bad As The Boys”

Tove Lo & Alma keep their best writing for themselves with “Bad As The Boys”

I’ve been a fan of Tove Lo since “Habits (Stay High)” came out in 2014 (please note I just had an existential crisis over the passage of time). She’s spent the last five years putting together some of the most compelling videos with consistently catchy hooks. She’s written songs for Zara Larsson, Lorde, Ellie Goulding, Hilary Duff and so many others, but her best work is the music she releases herself. My favourite track in a while has been “Bad As The Boys” with ALMA.

Tove has a history of writing back to back earworms. Back in 2017, she released “bitches” with Charli XCX, Icona Pop, Elliphant, and ALMA. That was the first time I’d heard ALMA, and I’m so glad to see them collaborating again. They work so well together, and I think both are such talented artists.

“bitches” was just straight up catchy, but as a song… I love “Bad As The Boys” so much more. I love a good heartbreak song, even if I’m not going through it. I was listening to it on a loop last night and suddenly it was 3am and I was still listening to it and I do not know WHERE the hours went but I am EXHAUSTED today.

I’ve somehow still never seen Tove Lo live. I literally worked marketing on Truth Serum and Queen of the Clouds and still never managed to secure a ticket. I’m really hoping on the new album cycle for Sunshine Kitty, I can finally fix my past mistakes.

If you want to listen to Tove Lo & ALMA’s new track along with a bunch of other songs I think are cool right now, follow this playlist!
